BF6 Players Concur: Missions Are Way Too Hard
The launch of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 was met with widespread acclaim, especially for its premier multiplayer mode. On Steam alone, concurrent player counts reached a high of nearly 750,000. However, regardless of its fanfare, many players are protesting against several of the title's toughest challenges, which are required to obtain particular firearms.
Gamers have begun resorting to custom matches set up using the custom game tool to finish these tasks, emphasizing just how arduous these challenges have become.
Comprehending BF6 Objectives
Tasks represent Battlefield 6's permanent multiplayer tasks, as opposed to the periodically changed day-to-day and weekly tasks. The game includes four types of assignments, but while the majority only reward cosmetics and some tools, achieving the firearm tasks is the only way of getting a dozen out of forty-one key firearms available in the game.
A number of these locked weapons may soon make their appearance on lists of the best guns in Battlefield 6.
Gamer Backlash via Reddit
Over on Reddit, players are justifiably expressing their worries about how challenging and repetitive several of these challenges are. A particular gamer highlighted one of the most outrageous examples, required to unlock the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
- Cause 10,000 non-ADS damage with LMGs
"This challenge is so atrocious and completely out of mind, I want to scream in frustration," is a quote that summarizes just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.
The suppression mechanic in Battlefield is more diminished than before in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many positive effects in fights as it had in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.
At the same time, using an LMG from the hip is wildly inaccurate and functions solely at extremely close range, which is not usually a position you prefer to be. The same user also highlighted the irony in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which requires kills while aiming down the sights, when that task would be much better suited to hipfire kills, and vice versa.
Another Extremely Difficult Challenge
A different forum member pointed out a further incredibly demanding challenge, this time in the long-range weapon type to access the PSR:
- Secure 150 precision takedowns beyond 200 meters with long-range weapons
This is tough enough by itself, but there's one more key thing to consider: the majority of Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at those extended distances.
There is a decent selection of map sizes, but because there are just nine levels in the game currently, it means you're limited to playing a specific urban map, a particular valley environment, and perhaps an additional option if you're lucky if you plan to engage from afar from a significant distance.
The Bypass
There is a workaround though: the custom game tool. The custom game creator is a system that permits you to make custom game modes on any map you prefer, complete with bots. This means you can bypass the intended method… but it isn't truly in line with the intended gameplay experience.
Yet, if doing the challenges in a normal session feels like anti-playing, since you have to play in such an unorthodox manner that doesn't benefit you or your team, who can blame someone for finishing these in a private match so squad members are not disadvantaged?
Potential Changes
It is expected if a number of these missions are made easier in the near future, because if they're not, certain gamers simply won't get their hands on the locked firearms.
For now, the community continues to express their views on these strenuous in-game tasks, expecting a more balanced gaming experience in future updates.
